🟠 Winner of International Music Film Awards UKRAINIAN MADONNA by Vladimir Genin,Svitlana Vol, Misha Nodelman, Stefan Nacke 2023 The Internet is full of images of the terrible suffering and destruction in Ukraine. No less impressive are pictures that show the courage of the people and give hope and confidence in victory. One picture became a symbol of Ukrainian resistance: UKRAINIAN MADONNA - a mother saving her baby. The music for violin solo was composed by Vladimir Genin especially for this project |

PASSACAGLIA IN YELLOW-BLUE by VLADIMIR GENIN, 2022 Orchestra del Teatro Comunale Bologna, direttrice OKSANA LYNIV As is typical for a passacaglia, a repeated eight-bar fixed bass line (basso ostinato) serves as the basis for a sequence of variations in this work. This line is similar to the famous since the Baroque "descending sequence of falling fifths“, but a very distorted one: instead of ordinary fourths and fifths, I use the thirds and fourths, after which unnoticed appears "the cross motif" (Crux fidelis), known from the works of Bach, symbolising suffering and pain. At the same time, there is a touch of blues melancholy in the rhythm and melody of the piece, so it is a "Passacaglia in Blue". The title of the work refers to the colours of the Ukrainian flag: blue like the sky, yellow like the wheat fields, because the mood of this work is deeply connected to the horror and sadness that have been a constant background to my life and work since the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine in 2014. |

🟠 LOGCINEMA Best classical music video PUNTO CORONATA quasi una passacaglia by VLADIMIR GENIN The 1st Music-Film of the Corona-Era by STEFAN NACKE Corona or Punto coronato ("coronata" in some historical sources) is a fermata, a symbol of musical notation - a crowned dot. This symbol indicates that the note or rest is to be extended beyond the normal measure. Exactly how much longer it is held is at the discretion of the performer or conductor. When the conductor shows the orchestra a fermata, not only does the music linger but time itself gets put on hold. It seems to me that the "chief conductor" from the very top has put a fermata over all mankind (see more) |

🟠 Winner of International Music Film Awards CORONATA in BLUE by VLADIMIR GENIN The 2nd Music-Film of the Corona-Era by STEFAN NACKE Corona or Punto coronato ("coronata" in some historical sources) is a fermata, a symbol of musical notation - a crowned dot. This symbol indicates that the note or rest is to be extended beyond the normal measure. Exactly how much longer it is held is at the discretion of the performer or conductor. Handcuffs-Impro YOU WILL NOT SILENCE US! In solidarity with those fearless people who fight for freedom and their rights in Belarus and Russia I've never been engaged in political performance art, but this idea has matured in me for a long time, and now it's time that I've made up my mind. The Kremlin and its allies must not be allowed to continue their amok run in the whole world. |
